Heritage Hall-Big Stone Gap is located in a rural community in Southwest Virginia. Our skilled nursing facility has the capacity to serve one hundred eighty residents and has been established in the community for over thirty years. We provide modern, quality health care to a variety of individuals. Whether it be short term rehabilitation, specialized wound care, Alzheimer’s patients, or simply long term care; we have a team of trained employees who will develop a plan of care designed especially for your loved one’s needs. Physicians, licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants are available at all times. Our outside resources include a consulting pharmacy, registered dietician, and licensed clinical social worker that evaluate our residents routinely.
The medical director of our facility is Dr. Lawrence J. Fleenor. He has been a member of our community for many years and has served as medical director at Heritage Hall-BSG for over twenty years.
Not only do we specialize in providing physical care for each resident but emotional, social, and spiritual needs as well. Chester and Hazel Lamb have volunteered their services to us for over thirty years. Chester is a pastor who performs church services for our residents twice a week. He is dedicated to working with the residents and is on call for any situation where he is needed.
The residents enjoy a full range of activities and social programs under the director of a certified activities director. Those who wish to participate can enjoy outings, crafts, parties, games, and musical programs. There is always a calendar full of exciting things at our home.
Quality of life is a very important focus to us. We want to make our residents feel at home, comfortable and happy. Visitors can quickly sense the home like atmosphere. We strive to meet the goals and expectations of our residents and family members. Our mission statement “Our family exists to care for yours” is communicated throughout our facility and community.
