Big Stone Gap - Recovery Bridge

Healthy, active people can spend time in the hospital for many different reasons.  Often, they find themselves ready to leave the hospital but not yet prepared to go home.  We call this the “Recovery Gap.” Building a bridge to span this gap is what we do best.

Stage 1: Skill Cultivation
The patient starts on the road to recovery. With persistent and structured care, they begin regaining essential living skills through rehabilitation.

Stage 2: Skill Reinforcement
The patient becomes immersed in the recovery process. Emotional support, rehabilitative exercises and special programs help strengthen and expand their skills.

Stage 3: Skill Proficiency
The patient becomes more adept at basic life skills. Next, we begin a strong focus on the challenges and obstacles that will be faced at home.

Stage 4: Skill Empowerment
The patient becomes more empowered over his or her own skills. They also begin practicing new skills that will help their transition into the community.
